Miniel Skinlab Hydraque Boost Serum Masks | Your Stress Free Vacation!

Let's give a big goodbye to Summer! it was the time of the year when themes were filled with vibrant colours of blue, yellow, red and a whole lot of summer beach vibes. Get your shades ready, because we will be skinny dipping into some really new products! Because... Here in Malaysia, it's an all year round of summer. with that said, Miniel Skinlab's Hydraque Collection will definitely make the cut to save our skin!

Miniel Skinlab is a local brand focusing on minimalist skincare with ingredients that is suitable for all skin types; this product is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free and EU allergen-free. I love supporting local brands, and its great to see more great people building their passion and sharing it to the world. As the brand focuses on minimalist, the ingredients and as well as packaging is at the best minimal yet vital.

came with the Stress Free Vacation kit ; A really nice summer vibe pouch which I am currently using for my beach necessities, A nice woven tote bag, Props that I've always contemplated to get for the summer flatlays, and the most thoughtfully waxed sealed letter. Thank you so much for the beautiful kit you have put up!

It took me awhile as I had been trying it out on-the-go, under air-conditioned. But to my surprise as I don't sleep in air-conditioned room, the serum was not sticky and absorbs so well! Both moisturizes and hydrates the skin, while they lock in goodness to retain the the elasticity of the skin!  which definitely promoted cell regeneration and removed dull dead skins at minimal effort!

Hydraque Gel Mask is my favourite among the 2 lovely; Watery Gel - just look at that beautiful pool inspired blue. so beautiful. Not only did it show immediate effect upon rinse off, the key ingredients are pretty interesting with Kudzu Extract, Watermelon, Apple and Lentil apart for Sodium Hyaluronate.

Their Hydraque Boost Serum, it is what is said to be, this mini tube packs quite a juice at 3 pumps; containing Yeast Extract and Hyaluronic Acid! its anti-aging and is retains hydration to your skin.

  • THE GEL MASK WAS SOOTHINGLY BOUNCY, and addictive to scoop, the texture was bouncy, and jelly-like, but soft enough to spread. Transparent with a hint of blue, the colour is so soothing to the eye. kinda like aloe vera gels, As you spread on, it takes some time to dry, means it has jammed packed of hydrating abilities to work its magic?
  • THE BOOST SERUM was super light-weighted, with a frosted glass pump i was expecting something thick, but it was light and easily absorb! probably less than a minute; which actually makes me uses it more on the face because i feel like its not enough sometimes; no sticky feeling at all! so happy and i approves!

THE SMELL I have a thing for nice smelling skincares, so it was a yay for me because it smelled like fresh breeze, it wasn't ocean breeze. A nice fresh flower smell like i came out from the shower! but not as prominent; only during applications you'd smell it. So what has abit of watermelon too! which is partly the ingredients for the Gel mask!

  • LOVE THE AFTER FOR THE GEL MASK! IT WAS SO SOFT AND I FELT LIKE MY SKIN JUST GOT PLUMPER JUST ON THE FIRST TRY! - To be honest I was pretty addicted to the mask, but I didn't want to use it daily.
  • The serum was love as well, not as wow as the mask, but it absorbs well and blends well with my layering of other skincare. No stings not irritations, I was very happy with the soft feeling after it absorbs.

THE PACKAGING a big shoutout to the simplicity to the packaging but so much awe because of the frosted glass that gives out a cooling vibe for the summer theme! It comes in quite sturdy and nice on the grip. the cover is light and easily sealed. Boxes are also simple with a hint of baby blue! definitely screams hydration no?

REPURCHASE? Yes, costing at RM97 for Boost Serum and RM67 for Gel Mask, they are quite affordable. I just wished it comes in a bigger tub. but they are perfect for Travel at 30ml & 50gm! I have been using it for my travel and I am down to my last 1/3.

When we talk about beauty, I personally believes that beauty comes from within - yes. aesthetically on the naked eyes are nice to see. but it's always the heart and personality that counts in the end right? As part of the questions asked to contestants during the Round 2 session, you'd have a good grip on each's own individual personality and charisma. I like the fact that they are focused on health whether is mentally or physically, having the right mind and body plays an important part for inner beauty.

At the launch of this nation-wide search in May this year,  Soren Lauridsen, CEO, South East Asia, Guardian Health And Beauty Sdn Bhd said:
This search for The Face of Healthy Beauty is NOT a Beauty contest. the Healthy Beauty, is a person who lives life to the fullest in a healthy way, and has a distinctive style and pleasant personality.  She is someone with a positive attitude, gives priority to being healthy first; and looks after her physical beauty too.

One hundred (100) shortlisted participants were selected to attend each  semi-final to be held at Johor Bahru City Square, Gurney Plaza Penang, Central i-City Mall Shah Alam and 1Borneo Hypermall Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.  Four semi-finalists from each region will attend the Grand Finals in Shah Alam on 27 July 2019.

After a hard-fought semi-finals where each of the 25 shortlisted semi-finalists had to go through challenges that display their aptitude and personality to deservedly earn the title ‘The Face of Healthy Beauty’, four finalists emerged to progress to the Grand Finals to be held in Kuala Lumpur on 27 July 2019.

The FOUR finalists from the East Malaysia!
who will represent our the borneo team to the finals in to be to TOP 4;

They will be featured on the Cover of Guardian’s Brand Catalogues and other collaterals and will receive products from participating sponsors.

I love how this is contributing so much to giving back to charitable organizations to empower something that they are passionate about.

As a Guardian customers, you can vote, from 8 July – 24 July 2019 on the microsite, for your favourite finalist to win at the Grand Finals.  The votes received for each finalist will contribute towards 50% of the total scores at the Grand Finals. SABORINO Morning Masks | Pink & Yellow PART 1

Have you tried out morning masking before? Been seeing BCL’s Saborino Masks around everywhere on social media and it got me curious to try the whole 60-sec morning masks. Took a while, finally decided to try it because it was on sale in Watson during their Mega Sale with a BUY1FREE1 Promo. the only best deal yet as these packs are quite expensive without the offers with RM60+ for a first timer who is pretty at risk to try out with a lum sum that much.

So how this 60-sec mask will impress me?
Do I not need my morning routine now?
Let’s find out shall we?

As mentioned in my Chronotype post – I am not exactly a morning person since - ever, because I’d rather take that extra 15minutes to snooze than to really get up and going. Most of my morning are pretty simple and fast. So, hearing about a 1 minute mask did really caught my attention, and I’ve been itching to get my hands on it for the longest time! Plus, they have the cutest packaging! which explains the extra motivation to layout this product shoot! Resistance is harder when there is aesthetic appeal. Darn.  Thankfully the legit packaging is also very convenient and hygienic! It comes with a sturdy cap and extra seal, i kept the seal for assurance - and it doesn't leak even on flights! YAY!

Then it comes to which one should I get? Well, after the long long LONG decision making process – I went for ALL AVAILABLE MORNING MASK! I was in it to risk, but heck why not try out all since it was on BUY 1 FREE 1 - atleast now, everyone can have a rough idea on all the variety to match their needs. Yes. I got them all, mostly because of curiosity - i swear  only 40% was packaging.

Because I have started opening and alternating for these 2 variety, I will be reviewing them on separate 2 Part post!  Here’s the breakdown on the details on the sheet masks ; Please note that the pink one, is a more premier version - and it contains 28 sheets in it while the yellow is their regular range of 32 sheets.

THE TEXTURE is thicker and its not as wet as I expected it, so It doesn’t drip at all. It’s lightweight and sticks quite well. It really does feel like wet wipes on your face. No mess, no stress. The mask itself is quite thick for me, and honestly can be reused after you rinse it off with water, for stuffs you'd use for a wet wipes. I put on for abour 1-2mins sometimes 5mins to get the most of the mask.

THE SMELL YASS to fruity smells. I have a thing for citrusy scents, so they get extra brownie points just because they smell fresh! But the scent might be too overpowering for people who are sensitive the moment you put on the face, but quite mild once its out on your face for awhile.

THE PINK - has a fruity berry smell that i personally like
THE YELLOW - has a herby-citrus smell - not your common scent, so some might find it weird.

THE AFTER-FEEL left a cold tingling sensation that helps refreshes the face in the morning! But it left a sticky after-feel to it as per I read in some reviews. So how I solve this was use it after I brush my teeth – and then give my face a light splash of water after the mask to reduce the sticky feeling. Pat dry and you’ll have an amazingly fresh soft skin ready for extra moisture for dry skin types like me, sunblock and makeup.

FYI - first few day's session was quite painful as it stings my skin. I was a little worried at first, but to be fair, my skin was pretty dried out from the air-conditioning in the hotel when i first tried it. but it was a cooling sting and the moment u took it off there was no redness or any continued pain.

REPURCHASE? Will consider, But it is not needed if you have a morning routine, it’s perfect for traveling though because you won’t be needing to bring your morning skincare by the bottles and tubs, we all need our night routines to tackle certain concerns but morning for me, that is vital is the sunblock. So yes if you’re a frequent traveler like me.

Tried the sheets out for almost 2 months everyday before I posted this, and safe to say – I quite enjoy it! As it did leave my face more hydrated. And the makeup stays quite well, doesn’t make my face oily throughout the day too. But I’m saving them mostly for my trips and alternating days if I am at home.

There was not much reviews detailed enough to help me on decision making when I decided to get this, truth to be told, it is actually on the pricey side for a 1 month usage. But hey, never try never know right? I hope this post will be helpful for everyone who are seeing the hype and considering buying for yourself.

I’d tryout the other 2 varieties once this packs are done! Here's a sneak peak on the upcoming packs!

Also, I have found a similar concept 90-sec masks too! From Hana & Kent – with their own sets of AM & PM 90-sec Masks. Should I give them a try and do a showdown? Leave a comment below if you’d like me to review on those.

What's Your Chronotype? | Your Best Productivity Timeframe

This new quarter i'll be sharing a lot on productivity as I practice them for myself, i hope to share positive impacts it has given me! I stumble upon an article on Chronotypes at Bustle on Facebook where you will have to identify your chronotype and understand when do you work best. Totally got me curious, and I went on to read up on Bulletproof's 'Being a Morning Person Isn't the Key to Productivity, This Is.' As I read and understood more, I realized - the morning person in me will never happen. period.

So what is a Chronotype?
chronotype is the behavioral manifestation of underlying circadian rhythms of myriad physical processes. A person's chronotype is the propensity for the individual to sleep at a particular time during a 24-hour period. - Wikipedia

The Power of When, written by Dr. Micheal Breus - explains that everyone has their own time clock ticking in them, depending on which Chronotype you are, you work best at your energy peak time!

What's YOUR Chronotype?
Take this quiz by answering a few questions to find out below!

That totally explains why I was never a morning person - and all my energy are hyped up during the evening. Getting to know my chronotype helps me prioritize my energy storage, and helps me plan more properly so I don't waste too much time on brain draining task during the day - while i focus more on routine or easy tasks during my zoning time frame.

credits Sam Parks @
Honestly it helped me so much in planning my everyday task and idea generations. I feel more productive everyday making sure all my energy was utilized fully at the right timing!

Below are some understanding of other Chronotypes that I read about around :

Bear are the chillax self-paced, who prefers to get their seven or eight hours of sleep and will hit the snooze button a few times in the morning, topping as the most common chronotype because their energy levels follows the sun
Dolphins are  highly intelligent perfectionists and light sleepers as the brain is constantly moving, seems that they are the regular insomiacs
Lions wake up early without an alarm clock and just get going but energy dips in mid afternoon and tucks in early/on-time.

Here's more great reads on the topic too! planning to get the book myself to know alot more.

Here’s the Perfect Daily Schedule That Corresponds to Your Chronotype |

Hope you will be able to identify your Chronotype and work your way towards your best timing!
thank you to Dr.Beuss for such an interesting discovery!

Currently On-My-Face Skincare Routine | Day & Night #1

hey hey!
sharing a little on my current daily skincare routine, because I have emptied out my moisturizer and its time for a reveal and decision making to try out new set or to repurchase?

I used to be a lazy bum when it comes to skincare routine, ehem. I love sheet masks and I make sure I buy good cleansers. but when it comes to my after cleansing skincare - truth to be told, I am still looking for the best one yet and have just started being super religiously applying last year Q3 on and off of 2018 and really stick to it as a habit in 2019 - time to really catch up. Hoping from skincare brands to another, I can finally reveal, the skincare line that I felt, deemed worthy for a repurchase until I find a good recommendation.

My Skin Type : Overall Dry / Combination on T-Zones / Pigmentation
No-nos : Sticky after feels/ Creamy Textures

yeap, if you're reading this, you'd probably be like.. uh but dry skins need the creams for hydration - but if I don't like the creamy after feel. how? well, too bad? but I have found some acceptable texture that makes me smile whenever I smother my face with it!

here's the reveal!

Cleanser - it's Skin Cleansing Foam- currently trying out the brand cause the fambam bought tons during our trip to Busan last year. Cleanses the face - okay. don't feel the wow effect for any repurchase yet. Honestly, I alternate days for morning washes with regular water rinse and cleanser wash so it won't be so dry.

Toner / Essence - The Body Shop - Vitamin E Essence Boost - super love this Essence Boost its like  ultimate favourite and must have for both my day and night skincare routine. Smells amazing too! 1 Bottle actually lasts quite long even for daily usage. so the price was worth it. I am down to my last few uses!

Essense/Ampoule - it's Skin VC Boost - I can use this Vitamin C on my day routine as researches said it doesn't go well is AHA/BHAs which was mainly my night routine. The booster was a bestseller for it's Skin's line. so far, i did noticed a decrease in my pigmentation, although not sure if it was because of my Body Shop Vitamin E Gel Moisture combo which I ran out earlier in January. But I got my second purchase! so we shall see if it really reduces pigmentation in a long run! honestly loe how affordable it is.

Moisturizer - Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream Regular Day - because most of the time my concerns are my pigmentation. Heard much about the Palmer's brand. So far, noticed its suppose to be for oily skin type. The texture is quite creamy but it has a sketchy feel to my skin whenever applied. However, no breakouts or anything. so I'll continue using the tub.

Sunblock - Api'eu Waterlock - Been religiously putting on sunblock everyday now. because the regrets for my face have never felt so deep because I never liked to use sunblock because of the sticky texture. Ever since I finished my Vella Sun Essences, I couldn't find it anywhere to buy anymore. So I went back to being a complaining kid on sunblocks. Recently finished my Etude House Sunprise, but Api'eu's was quite acceptable during my Busan trip - so again, I bought a few to stock up.

Final - Althea Velvet Petal - The final step will have to be the velvety finish because after the sunblock, my face is usually dewy and sticky. So its a must for one light layer of the loose powder. it helps keep everything in take for the day too! You can read up a detail review for this holy grail final touch at the Althea Velvet Petal post!

I hardly uses any additional makeups - honestly its pretty bare. I use eyeliners and eyebrow linings with mild lip tinting/lipstick on an everyday basis.

night routine, i go all out. which i used to be not much of a fan. but as we age, gotta really work on the maintenance. I am more lenient for sticky after-feel for night routine, because as much as i don't really like it, its still needed for my dry skin type.

Makeup Remover - Clean It Zero Original - yesss! i finished off my Silky Girl Gel Makeup remover. so it was finally time to use this super raved balm. Honestly, i didn't really like the feeling in the beginning because it felt super oily and uncomfortable as it melts my makeup off. people even say it works as a cleanser directly. I was dumbfounded because I honestly did not really like the put-on feel to it. BUT! with a rinse after this it is more acceptable. So i alternate with my cleanser now so it won't be too harsh on my skin. This baby works super good removing all ugly stuffs from the face even though it did not felt like it. A more detailed review coming up soon!

Cleanser - Za Wash - As mentioned, i like my face squeaky clean. but just found out recently if i over wash it would make it dry. so now, I try to alternate my cleansers because i have's Clean It Zero. unless i felt extra oily and sweaty that day, then I'd go for an extra cleanse.

Toner - Cosrx AHA/BHA Toner - been hearing alot of good feedbacks for this toner range and decided to try it out! SUPER LOVE the fact that it comes in A SPRAY instead of the usual drip out style. easily used and i think saves so much because i can control the amount that goes on the face.
+ The Body Shop Essence Boost after 20mins layering

** Sheet Masks - Random Sheet Masks I have purchased to give my face the pampering boost.

Essence - Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence - has been one of the must buy for the brand, so i gave it a go! it has a thick texture and smells like sugar water to be really honest, mild one. being 96% Snail secretion, I find it nothing near disgusting at all. so it was okayy, as for results - my skin did really feels more healthier, but just don't expect drastics changes.

Moisturizer - Cosrx Power Repair Hydration Cream - blogged about it in details, you can read out it. it's at its tip of emptying right now.  i will be on a hunt for a hydrating moisturizer again.

Add-ons - ID.AZ Firming Sleeping Pack - for the final fix to get my V-shape and burn fats for my double chin, i end it with the firming sleeping mask that i've reviewed earlier that i received from Butterfly Project. It's running low too! so far has quite an impressive effect to the face after a months usage. totally helped with my double chin cause i used it on my focused double chin area and jawline.

I am no expert in skincare, and I don't have the perfect face. But other than my dark spots that i'm working on, I am safe to say I am happy with current Skincare routine! Every products have its own detailed first impression and review. feel free to check them out individually at the link of their respective product name. :)

Feel free to suggest some of your recommendations of Must-Haves on your face! and maybe some add-ons to mine as I notice people actually put in Essences for morning routines?
so I can switch around and find my holy grail.

until next magical day,
