Sabah Bakery & Hospitality Expo | An Industry Insights!

If you're planning on getting into the F&B industry in Kota Kinabalu, the 3-Day Sabah Bakery & Hospitality Expo is a good place to survey for vendors and getting in touch with suppliers of various ingredients and also packaging vendors too! the Food Trucks opportunities are there for you to inquire more information. 

SBNHE is the first bakery and hospitality exhibition held in East Malaysia which aims to invite individuals and companies to further understand this industry as well as making new bonds with suppliers of various companies. At the same time, it will enable participants of booths to showcase their brand and expand clientele at the same time. To further boost the exhibition, the organiser also invited the International Federation of Chinese Bakery and Confectionery Association (Asia) as well to be part of their guest exhibitor.

The exhibition consist of various participants from different industries such as Bakery Machinery, Food Ingredients, Frozen and Dry Food, and Packaging, Industrial/household cleaning chemical, F&B Software as well as others related to the food industries. The event itself also hosts participants from a few neighbouring countries such as China, Taiwan, Brunei, Indonesia with a total of 135 booths.

Booths presented are the back-end operations of every business around and they are your ingredients suppliers like Bake with Yen, HongSeng cold storage, and Consfood which are some recognizable names, while machinery and packaging are not every time your easily accessed vendors; I had a great time learning and getting insights of the back-end of the F&B business just by roaming around and learning what the exhibitors have to offer! Food sampling and on-site displays of culinary arts are a good experience during the expo. 

One of the key booths that caught my attention is the Food Grade Packaging vendors. As a persons who is particularly attracted to packaging when I do most of my purchase; I learnt there is a difference between food-grade packaging and also non-food grade; as they are made in consideration of sanitary needs and are more suitable to handle food products. Boyyy the boxes were sturdy af for a cake! 

Anddd if you are stopping by, I highly recommend to try out the DimSum booth! It was darn addictive and yummy! I walked out happy with my own loot, can't wait to eat them at home steamed up hot and nice for brunch!
